Online ITIN Application · IRS Form W-7

Apply for your ITIN online, prepared and certified by a real CAA

Answer the questions below and ITIN INTERNATIONAL TAX SERVICES prepares your Form W-7 for you. Because Mr. Bryan Woods is an IRS Certifying Acceptance Agent, we can certify a copy of your identification documents ourselves — so your passport is never sent to the IRS. IRS statute does require us to touch and hold your passport to confirm it is valid, and it is photocopied and couriered straight back to you. Most people finish this in about ten minutes.

Why are you applying? *

These are the IRS's own categories from Form W-7. Pick the one that fits best.

Who is the ITIN for?

Enter the name exactly as it appears on the passport or identification document you will be using. The IRS matches these letter for letter.

Common after marriage, or where a birth certificate shows a different name.

How can we reach you?

You will need this, with your reference number, to check your status.

Where should the IRS write to you?

The IRS posts the notice containing your ITIN to the mailing address on the form, so use an address where you will reliably receive post over the next few months.

Mailing address

Address outside the United States

The IRS asks every ITIN applicant for a permanent address in their home country.

Birth, citizenship and U.S. status

This is the part of Form W-7 the IRS checks against your identification documents, so copy the details straight from your passport where you can.

Leave blank if your country does not issue one.

U.S. immigration status

Only if you hold a U.S. visa or have entered the United States. Skip anything that does not apply.

Have you ever had an ITIN or an IRS number before?

Your identification documents

Your passport never goes to the IRS. As an IRS Certifying Acceptance Agent, and in alignment with IRS statute, we certify a copy of your passport and the IRS receives that copy. IRS ITIN statute and procedure do require us to touch and hold the original to confirm it is valid, so we inspect it, photocopy it and return it to you immediately by Federal Express, DHL, USPS Priority or Express Mail — one to two days without it. Applicants without a CAA generally must mail their original passport to Austin, Texas, which can take six months or more, and its care, custody and control can be jeopardised on the way. Not with us.
Which documents can you provide?

A valid passport is the only document that stands alone. Without one, the IRS needs two from this list, and at least one must carry your photograph. Tick everything you have — we will tell you which combination to use.

Upload photographs or scans (optional now)

Clear photographs taken with your phone are fine. PDF, JPG, PNG, HEIC or WebP, up to 5 MB each and 12 files in total. You can also send these later through our secure client portal.

Passport photo page, visa page, birth certificate, national ID…

How would you like your originals verified?

IRS ITIN statute and procedure require a Certifying Acceptance Agent to touch and hold your passport to confirm it is valid. We photocopy it and send it straight back — one to two days without it, and it is never sent to the IRS.

    Review and submit

Check your answers below. You can go back and change anything — and we check everything again before your Form W-7 is signed.

    Who is submitting this?

    Our fee

Submitting this form costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Once we have read your answers we confirm a fixed fee in writing, and no work begins and no payment is taken until you accept it. The IRS does not charge for issuing an ITIN.

    Before you submit *
